New Friends for the Journey!

For three days this past week, I had the opportunity to head to Scottsburg to spend some time with a few folks that have been placed into my life to explore and refresh ourselves together as youth workers. These are all youth workers from varying disciplines of youth work and all have very distinct stories that define their paths into the places they find themselves in life. Needless to say, there are a variety of awesome people in this group who bring much to the table in ways of discussion about youth and the different ways that we try and engage the Next Generation of leaders.

It made me start thinking of the people in our lives that are placed there to have influence or space to speak into our lives. Have you ever noticed how fluid those people can be in the ever-changing seasons of life we can find ourselves moving through? People will come and go through the revolving door of your circle of friends and connections. Of course some hold greater esteem in your life than others, but just about everyone finds their role in your life changing over a period of years.

In any case, I'm excited to welcome these new colleagues into my adventure called life as we travel together across the state on The Journey. It's gonna be great.
