Give Me Your Eyes

This is a song from a guy that is going to be intricate in pushing people to a new level of recognition of the things that God recognizes. I encourage everyone to download this single, buy it, get it some how! Then after you hear it, you should probably look at these lyrics and be changed in your perspective of how God sees the people that we don't see, ever.

Looked down from a broken sky
Traced out by the city lights
My world from a mile high
Best seat in the house tonight
Touched down on the cold black tile

Hold on for the sudden stop
Breath in the familiar shock
Of confusion and chaos
Are those people going somewhere?
Why have I never cared?

Chorus:
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity

Give me your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach
Give me your heart for the once forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see

yeah
yeah
yeah
yeah

Step out on a busy street
See a girl and our eyes meet
Does her best to smile at me
To hide whats underneath
Theres a man just to her right
Black suit and a bright red tie
To ashamed to tell his wife
He's out of work
He's buying time
Are those people going somewhere?
Why have I never cared?

Chorus

Ive Been there a million times
A couple of million eyes
Just moving past me by
I swear I never thought that I was wrong
Well I want a second glance
So give me a second chance
To see the way you see the people all alone

Isn't it interesting that we can hear a song and be moved by the words that are said? So, if we are being moved by the words, why aren't we MOVING?! This has been my prayer and my way of worshiping my Father when this song comes on the radio. What does this world look like when we decide that we are done seeing what God sees and not doing anything about it? I think that it is amazing that we have the opportunity to be more than what our parents and grandparents have been and yet we sit and blog, and play video games, or argue about class basketball. I know that "those are what we do." Well, I say we change the perception of the people on the college student and we change our mentality of what it is that a college student does. I am usually a talking head, but no more. I want to be a person of change. Someone that is intent on being dedicated to living an Acts church mentality to the fullest. I don't want to be someone that sings a song and then forgets that that happened 10 minutes ago. I want my life to be focused and fruitful for His kingdom. I hope and pray that in a few years, He will provide me with the ways and means to begin to bring others on this journey.

God, would you please give us all eyes that we may see your concerns. That we may understand what makes you cry and what makes you angry. That we may come to see ALL of your people. Move us to action through our vision. Give me your eyes.
