Rainy Day

So today, I'm driving to Mishawaka/South Bend to have lunch with Jenni and I notice just how much water has come out of the sky today and we are only halfway through the day. It's a ton! Later today, I am going to attend a viewing for Kyle Conrad. Kyle was the cousin of my close friend Tyler Brown. They were really close and have shared many memories together.

The rain today reminds me of how these funeral/viewing things seem to be for those that are close to the deceased. Something like a thunderstorm is the event that sparks the rainstorm of memories that flood the minds of friends and family.

I guess my other revelation in this thing is trying to figure out what my role is in this rainstorm. I don't want to be a sandbag that stops the memories, but I know that I have a role to play. Perhaps my role is to be the small break in the rain that features a little sunshine. Just a quick breath of fresh air or calm from the storm.

May I reflect the Son today to those that already know Him and may they be comforted by my warmth. May I be a small beacon of light through the clouds for those that need to see some sunshine today.
