Just wanted to let friends, family, and parents know that we are limited in posting because there is limited access to wifi. So, pictures and such may be limited as well as access to the Philly blog. So updates may be more prevalent on this blog. You may wanna check both sites for the most up p date information!
On other notes, the team is in high spirits and worshipping together was amazing tonight! I am really excited to see how God changes some of these students! Already some very interesting, deep conversations tonight and it is only 8:45PM!
We took a walk around the area and just took note of some of the people and places that surround our church/residence. There are many companies that used to be invested in the Kensington Avenue area, however there are more rundown buildings than there are being used by active industries right now.
The homes that are in the area vary from nicer town homes to rundown apartments. The people are surrounded by a lack of support and a lack of hope.
Because of all of this I am very excited to work with people tomorrow!
Keep praying for strength and courage for these students and leaders as we begin our ministry to the people of Philadelphia.
