A Different Scene with Different Players

Been staying at Derry's place to watch the second best dog alive and keep someone at the house. While I have not been able to take full advantage of the benefits of having a dog around and staying in my own space, it has been a very refreshing time and has been a bit revealing to me. Here are some thoughts I have had:

1. I want a Dog.
There is just something about having someone be uber-excited that you are home. Barnabas likes to run from the front room through the kitchen to the living room and back about 4 times before he recognizes that I have my own agenda in my head about what the next 15 minutes are going to look like. My parents dog, Annie, jumps and jumps and jumps and jumps to signify her excitement. Not on you, but as high as she possibly can. Clearly, this makes her a better dog, but also she's kind of mine. Which makes her the best dog alive. Yep. I want a dog.

2. Cable is Good.
I got to watch more MLB, PGA, NBA, movies and Conan than I ever get to watch regularly. Makes me wonder what that stuff would cost to get them at my place.

3. Cable is Addicting.
I got to watch more shows like the Kennedys, Weird Warfare and other mostly informative television shows that would keep me glued on that and not on the other things that I could be doing. Which probably makes the potential of number 2's action step, less and less of a possibility.

All in all, it comes down to wanting a dog. Managing a dog would be tough, and would require a bit of lifestyle change and location change (can't have one in my current living conditions), but it would be something that would lift my life, of that I am sure.
