Music Monday & Christmas Thoughts

I've recently been listening to some new Christmas music that Chris Tomlin put together on an album called: Glory in the Highest: Christmas Songs of Worship.

On the CD is the song O Holy Night. It has been messing me up. Especially, as I prepare to deliver a message on Wednesday about the birth of my Savior. I have found myself being hit across the head with some Holy Spirit recognition of the Love that God has for me and the awesome-ness of the birth of the Christ; the Word became Flesh; the Holy Lord of Heaven and Earth. Look at this:

O holy night, the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks, a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees, oh hear the angel voices
O night divine
O night when Christ was born
O night, O holy night, O night divine

Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love, and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise His holy name
Christ is the Lord, O praise His name forever
His power and glory ever more proclaim

I am blown away at the power of this song and the picture that it paints in my mind. What a Crazy Love that He has for me and you.

"I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you. He is CHRIST the Lord." -Luke 2:10b-11
