NFL Pick 'em

So, this is the first installment of a weekly post that will take place on the ole blog. The weekly NFL Pick 'em is part of a competition with a few guys from the church and you can follow along with the total tallies and see how I am doing on Dan Weiss' blog. Plus you can see what a good blog looks like.

So here they are:
Tennessee 21
def. Pittsburgh 17 - It's gonna be a good year for the Steelers, but it starts on a rough note as Jeff Fischer and the gang are dedicating the season to a lost friend and teammate.

Miami 28
def. Atlanta 24 - Atlanta is going to be good this year. Matter of fact, I have Turner in two of three fantasy leagues. But Miami is just too tough and edges them out in a sloppy first game.

Cincinnati 34
def. Denver 24 - Denver is the favorite here, but Carson Palmer is superior to Kyle Orton who will have 3 picks in a ugly game one for the former Purdue standout.

Minnesota 28
def. Cleveland 24 - It's a low-scoring affair because Brett Favre's bicep still isn't 100% and with 2 picks, you can't do much without the football. But the heart of Brett Favre gives them the edge and Brady just isn't quite agile enough to escape the front four of Minnesota.

Indianapolis 42
def. Jacksonville 37 - high scoring game here as both teams are looking to improve their defense every year. I'll take Peyton Manning against just about anybody though in a shootout.

New Orleans 49
def. Detroit 28 - Surprise pick of the day and completely against the lines, Drew Brees comes out in a big way and Detroit still can't find a rhthym. I'll probably eat my foot for this one.

Dallas 28
def. Tampa Bay 21 - Tony Romo and Wade Phillips don't take too kindly to the harsh words from Emmitt and defeat the home team with a late score. Not a great game, but it will turn into a barn burner in the end.

Philly Eagles 24
def. Carolina 21 - A great game to watch as two teams continue to try and discover that sweet spot for all of their players. Really a toss up but I'm going with the experience of Donovan McNabb to rule out in the end, even if they are on the road.

Kansas City 28
def. Baltimore 21 - Yeah, even as I write this I think that I am nuts. I don't know why, but I have a feeling... that i'm gonna lose this game.

NY Jets 28
def. Houston 14 - Mark Sanchez is the real deal and the nation finds out as he'll score 2 of their4 touchdowns in this one and beat the home team by two scores.

NY Football Giants 34
def. Washington 21 - I like the home team here. Tough to play against Eli and the boys at home. Washington just isn't quite up to snuff.

San Francisco 49
def. Arizona 42 - Both teams are going to score a lot of points in my opinion, but I like Singletary's defense ot harden up in the end. Big road win for the Niners.

Seattle 42
def. St. Louis 34 - Go HASSELBECK! At home, I'll pick 'em!

Chicago 49
def. Green Bay 28 - Big coming out party for Jay. This one won't even be close. Even more, the Pack better get ready for another long season behind Aaron Rodgers.

New England 34
def. Buffalo 21 - He's back! Tom Brady makes his debut since the injury and he'll make sure that Buffalo gets the memo. T.O. is a non-factor because the NE front four puts too much pressure on the QB.

San Diego 49
def. Oakland 14 - I don't even know if they'll score that many points. It's gonna be ugly and it's gonna be ugly early. Get ready for 2nd stringers to see the field EARLY in the 3rd quarter.

*Not every post will be this long. I just needed something to do :)

BEAR DOWN!
