Reflection on a Friday Night...

So I am sitting in the Fieldhouse with my friend Jeff Simpson. That whole line is irrelevant to the rest of this blog post, but I figured I would give you the context of where I am when I write this post. Yesterday and Today, I was part of The Leadership Summit at Willow Creek Community Church and I was hit like an egg under a ton of bricks with the knowledge and wisdom I gleaned from the faculty and presenters at the Summit. I have not yet processed everything, but this is what I have come up with in some abstract, poetic ( i guess) form. This is more for me, so I really don't care what you think... :) But I will need your help to remind me to hold to the things I have talked about down there...

I have been challenged.
I have been pushed to the brink...

I realize the need for change in my life...
I understand the possibility that my life could take on things much larger than myself...

And yet, I am still unsure.
I am left with a sense of overwhelming anxiety for the future
I am paralyzed by thinking that not having a plan is having a plan...

But, I am humbled at the Power of the One Who Is...
I am impressed by the Grace of our Lord...

I am comforted by the providence of His Sovereignty...
I am affirmed by His plan for my life...

I am empowered to do His work with passion...
I am confident in the Good work that He is doing in me and through me...

I am called to be His hands and feet...
I sense His Spirit moving me to action...

I will lead in ways not known to this earth....
I will allow Him to guide me as I guide others...

Lord, be my pillar of fire and my cloud of guidance...
Be my fountain of wisdom and discernment...

Father, be my certainty in times of the uncertain...
My decider in times of indecision...

Jesus, you are my King and today I choose to follow you recklessly
Facedown, I will press on toward my reward, which is you...

You are my inspiration
You are my strength
You are my Courage
My Wisdom
My Promise
My Drive
My Provider
My Teacher

Amen.
